How this may affect you - Anchorsholme
We've been working with Blackpool Council and other key organisations to plan this work for some time, and have held several drop-in sessions to speak to local residents, park users and the Friends of Anchorsholme Park about our work and how it may affect the community.
It's clear this type of extensive construction work will require some pretty big machinery to dig some rather large holes and we will need to close off areas of the park during our work.
Our second phase of work involves more extensive construction and the eventual redevelopment of the park. This will require our existing fence line to be extend to the full boundary of the park, therefore the park will need to close from October 2016 until the end of the project. The bowls club will be relocated to a temporary facility and the council maintenance pavilion will be removed.
We understand that our work is inconvenient for park users and are committed to making sure that we return a redeveloped, improved park with new facilities once we have completed our work.
Footpath diversions: The footpath trail that ran through the park is now within our working area, so unfortunately for safety reasons this will be closed for the duration of the project.
Noise and vibrations: We'll be using large construction machinery at site which will generate noise and vibrations. We'll do all we can to keep this to a minimum and have monitoring devices to keep a close 'ear' on this. We'll ensure we keep residents updated to give advance notice of any activities that will be particularly noisy.
Customer drop-in centre: If you have a question or would like to see how our work is progressing, why don't you pop into the customer centre?
From Monday 14 November until Wednesday 21 December 2016 it's located in the corner of Anchorsholme Park, at the top end of Anchorsholme Lane West. We have new aerial photography displayed every month, so you can see the project progression and members of the project team are available to answer any queries you may have. It will be great to see you.
The opening days and times are:
||9.00am - 4.00pm
||10.00am - 6.00pm
||10.00am - 3.00pm
From Wednesday 4 January 2017 the customer centre will move to a new location on Princes Way. The opening days and times will remain the same.
Bowling green: The bowling club will be temporarily moved to another area of the park; further details will be provided soon.
Long term plans for the park
We've carried out a number of community events and open days, working with an external organisation with input from users, local councillors, Anchorsholme Bowls Club and of course Blackpool Council. Once we've finished all our construction work we want to ensure we deliver an improved park for the community.
Don't worry, we'll also ensure that we keep you updated as the project progresses, but if you still have a question you can call us on 0345 672 3723 quoting project number C2V+ 80040279 phase 2. We'll be happy to help.
